Paros Punda
The village of Pounta is situated on the eastern side of Paros and it has a large sandy beach. It is characterized by its much-frequented bars, which attract thousands of young people, who choose Paros to spend their vacation. The dense vegetation - tall plane trees, cypresses, oleanders, carob trees, fruit-bearing trees - make the area ideal for Tiger moth butterflies. The visitors can see them from June to August.
The parian marble is famous all over the world since it was used for the creation of many famous statues such as: the Hermes of Praxiteles, the Aphrodite of Milos and many more. The parian marble was extracted from the ancient marble quarries of Paros, in Marathi, 5km. from Parikia
The Environmental and Cultural Park of Paros-Agios Giannis Detis (Saint John Detis) is located at the bay of Naoussa. It is open all year round. You can visit it to walk on its mapped paths, to swim at its 4 beaches, to watch theatrical shows and concerts at its amphitheater, or to enjoy the moon at its romantic café.
Panagia Ekatontapiliani is the most important and the most ancient christian monument in Greece. It is celebrated on the 15th of August and it is one of the greatest feasts of the islands of the Aegean Sea.
